Adam Kelly's Night of Bohs 2

Sporting Fingal vs Bohemians, 3rd September, Morton Stadium

Quite how Bohs didn`t score or win this game is beyond belief! They completely dominated this Dublin derby and the consequences of this draw look like being disasterous.

The Gypsies immediately had Fingal on the back foot and Glen Cronin had the first chance of the match, his header was easily saved by Darren Quigley. Killian Brennan`s inswinging corner nearly caught out Quigley but he recovered well.

A heart-in-the-mouth moment occured a few minutes later for Bohs fans when Shaun Willians timid shot squirmed through the grasp of Chris O`Connor but luckily for the Aussie the ball skipped wide of his goal.

The last chance of the half fell to the towering Jason McGuinness but his header from a corner was met with a good save from former UCD stopper Quigley.

Bohs started the second half like they ended the first with first Paddy Madden`s looping header being saved by the busy Quigley and then when Madden looked through 1 on 1 he rushed out to smoother the danger!

Neither side threatened again until the 85th minute when Glen Cronin saw his deflected effort drift just wide of Quigley’s left-hand post. Despite the obvious deflection, the linesman signalled for a goal-kick to the home side.

Fingal had a goal disallowed in the 90th minute when Willians headed home a corner but he was adjudged to have fouled McGuinness in the process.

The final whistle was blown soon after with the result suiting neither team.
